Speaking at the weekend, during the swearing-in and send forth ceremony of the newly and outgoing executive of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents( ANLCA) in Lagos, Adams, said it is pertinent for the federal government to listen to the cries of Nigerians in the Diaspora and reduce the freight paid on imported goods.

“I am a regular traveler and I can understand the pain Nigerians abroad feel before they could bring their goods into the country. On this note, I want to appeal to the federal government to reduce the tariffs, the cost of importing goods into the country is too high and Nigerians abroad are finding it difficult to send their goods into the country, and this has also affected their businesses. We can only improve on our local production if there is an enabling environment for investors.

Meanwhile, the outgoing president of the group, Prince Olayiwola Shittu, has charged the newly elected president to carry all the members in his quest to take the association to the next level. He said he had learnt great lessons on how best deal with the people, particularly, in running the affairs of the association.”For eight years that I held the position, I know what it takes to deal with people of different backgrounds”, he said.

The president of the group, Iju Tony, in his speech, promised to step up the activities of the association. He charged all members of the group to cooperate with the new executive in their bid to take the association to the next level”, he said.
