Ramadan: AGF Felicitates With Muslims, Enjoins Them To Pray For Nigeria
A socio-political group, Asiwaju Grassroot Foundation (AGF), Osun State chapter has enjoined all Muslims to pray for the peace and progress of the country as the Ramadan fast commences.
In a statement signed by the group Coordinator, Comrade Sikiru Tijani and Secretary, Yahaya Adeniji, the group urged the Muslim faithful to also pray for the security and unity of the country.
According to the group, it was the duty of all, irrespective of religion, to pray for the state and the country at large especially in this holy month of Ramadan.
“AGF salutes all adherents of the Islamic faith in the state and Nigeria at large as they begin this year’s Ramadan fast.
“As they join the global Islamic community in undergoing the spiritual purification of Ramadan, we urge all Muslims to offer special prayers during the period for greater peace, security, unity.
“We call on all Muslims and non-Muslims alike to strive to imbibe in greater measure, the virtues of piety, self-discipline, tolerance, equity, fairness and sympathy for the less privileged which the Ramadan fast promotes.
“ We urge men, women and children, young and old, to re-open their minds, during this Ramadan season, to Islam’s true lessons of love and peaceful co-existence with others.
“We also appeal to all Muslims to pray for the successful conduct of the gubernatorial election in the state which is scheduled to hold on September 22, this year.
“May Allah grant the prayers of the faithful during Ramadan and reward them bountifully.
