Frayo’ Launches NGO To Rehabilitate Street Boys
Government and good-spirited Nigerians have been urged not to lose faith in rehabilitating and reintegrating back to the society street urchins otherwise known as ‘area boys’.
Mr. Gbenga Adebayo, who is popularly known as Fryo, made the call during the launch of his Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) called Back to Life Foundation.
Adebayo in his address said, he chose to assist street urchins because it is the best way to reduce vices in the society.
He noted that the foundation was not just like any other, but one that is committed to rehabilitating and reforming the street boys, so that they can be useful to themselves and the society.
The event which had Osun governorship hopeful, Dr.Kayode Oduoye, as speaker and Engr. Seyi Makinde as chief launcher, saw artistic displays by a group of young talents the foundation intends to promote.
In his paper, Dr. Oduoye said: “If something is not done about the growing trend of street urchins, no one is safe in the land.”
Oduoye added: “Any society that cannot take care of its poor cannot guarantee the safety of its rich. He also called for massive support for the NGO.”
Dignitaries at the events include; Hon.Soji Adagunodo, who led chieftains of the PDP to the event.
The chief launcher, Mr. Seyi Makinde was represented by his brother, Seye Makinde.
Other guests at the event are; former speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Adejare Bello, former Commissioner of Finance, Mr Adetoyese Ojo, who represented Senator Iyiola Omisore.
