Buhari’s Impeachment Suit: Federal High Court Begins Hearing Tomorrow
A federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun state, has slated the hearing of the Suit, requesting for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari over alleged constitutional breaches to tomorrow,Monday December 17th,2018.
Meanwhile,information from the Court revealed that every party in the matter has prepared for the hearing of the suit after all the parties have been served with all the necessary papers.
According to the statement jointly signed by the Plaintiffs,they
maintained that they were ready to pursue the issue to the logical conclusion through Constitutional means.
Justice Maureen Onyetenu had earlier granted an ex-parte order of mandamus to compel the National Assembly to begin impeachment process against President Buhari.
It would be recalled that the suit was filled by Barrister Kanmi
Ajibola, Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ilesa branch; and Comrade Suleiman Adeniyi, a human rights activist.
They alleged that Buhari breached the provisions of the constitution, they had written to the National Assembly to begin impeachment process against the President,claiming that Buhari did not possess a certificate to be qualified as a President with other alleged impeachable offences and Buhari should be impeached.
The case which came up last on November 26, before Justice Onyetenu adjourned till December 17 following the non service of the notice of preliminary objection on the applicants by counsel for the President.
However,all the parties in the suit were being represented during the last sitting.
