Alleged Marginalisation: CRPP Southwest Tasks FG To Consider Yoruba Interest In Top Positions

Ahead of the 2019 forthcoming general elections, the Coalition of Registered Political Parties in the Southwest on Friday in Akure, Ondo state capital accused the Federal government of shortchanging the Yoruba nation in the area of federal appointments, calling for immediate redress of the alleged marginalisation.
The group lamented that the federal government has been unfair to the Yoruba people of the Southwest in the sharing of federal offices.
The coalition said apart from the elective political positions, Yoruba should be given positions that could make them relevant in position of things in Nigeria.
CRPP however unanimously requested for at least five federal appointments in each of the state of southwest for Yoruba integration into mainstream of federal administration.
In a statement issued at the end of a meeting which was attended by the chairmen of all the political parties in the southwest said since Yoruba state is the second largest voting strength that voted APC in 2015 apart from Vice President, no position has been given to southwest again.
The group at the meeting also agreed on the following people, Engr Omotoso, Banji Victor the Chairman Labour Party Ekiti State to be the pioneer house coordinator southwest to start working with any political party endorsed from the caucus meeting for the forthcoming general elections.
CRPP tasked the federal government to consider the interest of the region in any other top federal appointments.
