Kwara: Establishment Of IVTEC Will Reduce Youth Restiveness-Moronfoye

A former Aide of Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed of Kwara State, Prince Tunji Moronfoye has stated that the establishment of International Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC),Ajase-ipo would reduce youth restiveness and unemployment.

Moronfoye make this known on Monday while featuring on a radio programme in Ilorin, the state capital.

He said the vision behind IVTEC is to make their graduands to be self reliant and compete effectively in their area of study.

According to him: “Youths and other participants would receive training make them to be self reliant and cater for their needs as well as needs of family. This will make them busy. you know an idle hand is a devil’s workshop. This will even curb cultism, kidnapping and other social vices.

“It sad that people in the state usually hires technicians from other states and neighboring countries like Togo. But the establishment of IVTEC Will correct that, as courses such as Weldering, Automobile, Heating and Ventilation, Solar Technology, ICT and others are available at the college.

He noted that students of the college will be exposed to world class training and receive City Guild Certificate at the end of their programme.

The Former Aide of governor stressed that City Guild Certificate will be issued by an institution in United Kingdom, revealing that certificate could be use anywhere in the world.

Moronfoye noted that the pioneer students of IVTEC have resumed lectures, adding that scholarships given to indigenes of the state at the college was not based on political affliation.

“The beneficiaries were picked from World Bank register for vulnerable, compiled in 2014 during Goodluck Jonathan era.” He explained.
