Orolu Parliamentarians Elect Principal Officers, As Benson Emerges Chairman
The newly elected Councillors of Orolu local government council, Ifon Osun have unanimously and peacefully elected their principal officers among all the Councillors that represent the whole 10 wards that constitute Orolu local government.
The event which was peacefully and orderly was held yesterday at the local government Secretariat headquarters, Ogbomoso road Oke Awesin in Ifon Osun and was witnessed by traditional rulers, Chiefs, religion leaders, party leaders and members, market men and women, and the local government officials.
Hon Prince Adekunle Adesina Benson from ward 10 was elected by the Parliamentarians as the Chairman of Orolu local government while hon Adekola Toyin Tope from ward 3 was elected as the vice chairman of the local government and they were sworn in and took Oath of office in the presence of the Clerk of the House, Mr Afonja R A.
Other principal officers of the Parliament that were sworn in and took relevant Oath of office include; hon Rafiu Abiodun Durodola from ward 3 was elected as the leader of the house, hon Ganiyu Isiaka from ward 7 was elected as the deputy leader while hon Jamiyu Fatai Kayode from ward 8 was also elected to be the supervisor for Orolu Administrative Office in Diisu Ayekale.
While delivering his speech, the executive chairman of Orolu local government, hon Prince Adekunle Benson appreciate the peoples governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and state leadership of our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC) led by prince Gboyaga Famodun and Alh Rasak Salinsile for giving him the opportunity, promising them that he would not let them down.
Meanwhile,Benson promised the entire people of Ifon Osun that the six integral action plans of Ogbeni Aregbesola will be adopted and total transformation and unprecedented developmental projects will be experienced and witnessed in the all nooks and crannies of Orolu, as this administration has planned to assiduously work on good roads, clean environment, standard market, waterways, electricity, potable water, food security, total empowerment, Agriculture, Security, Health, Education, Wealth creation, poverty alleviation and many more.
He also reiterate that he can not do it alone as the cooperation and support to the members of the Parliament and that of Civil servants are very needed as only hard work will be rewarded and this administration would maintain an open door policy and welcome suggestions and ideas that will take Orolu Local Government area to the promised land.
The council boss reminded the parliamentarians that they should regard their election as a clarion call to serve and contribute their quota to the development of Orolu ocal government area.
According to him, “we need to work assiduously by tapping every available Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) due the local government to complement both the federal and state allocations”.
The Chairman therefore, emphatically stated that his administration will witness standard practice, transparency and strict accountability in the evolution and execution of government policies and programmes to ensure good governance.
