Senatorial Aspirant, Security Aide Arrested Over Alleged Killing Of Two People

A senatorial Aspirant in the 2019 National Assembly election and his security aide have been arrested over the killing of two men at Oyo during the celebration of Oranmiyan festival.

The aspirant,Chief Bisi Ilaksa our investigation in the state capital revealed, has been granted police bail while investigation is ongoing on the allegations.

It was learnt that Ilaka attended the festival at the Palace of Alaafin of Oyo and decided to leave before the end of the programme when he discovered that his vehicle has been rounded up by area boys and his party supporters who wanted money from him.

Ilaka brought out money and threw it to distract the people in order to give him passage.

As his driver was turning the vehicle from the scene, another set had stormed the place and blocked the way again despite that he had escaped into the car and rolled up the glasses.

Sensing that the miscreants have again blocked his passage and might succeed in dragging him out of the vehicle which they were consistently beating,the police man with him fired two gun shots to the sky in order to frighten the miscreants ,it was gathered.

Unfortunately,the shots hit two men who died on the spot while a woman who was wounded was rushed to the state hospital in the town.

The police officer and the driver narrowly escaped being lynched as the intervention of other officers at the scene saved them.

The Politician was said to have taken refuge from the monarch while his driver sustained serious injuries from the attack.

A relation of one of the killed people disclosed that her brother was at the Festival to sell his cartridge when he met his untimely death.

Reacting to the matter ,Superintendent Ade.Ajisebutu said that the police would take the case to court after discreet investigation.

He warned that all politicians arming their aides should release such weapons to the police or face the wrath of law.
