The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State rose stoutly in support of the state government on allegation of diverting the recently released N16.6 Billion Paris Club refund fund to the state saying that government has no plan to divert the funds.

Senator Ademola Adeleke, the PDP governorship candidate at a press conference warned that the N16.6 Billion Paris Club refund released by the Federal government to pay the arrears of workers salary should not be diverted to any other area or settle contractual obligations.

He threatened that should the fund be diverted, he would recover it if he is voted as the governor of the state in the September 22 governorship election.

But in his reactions, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, the Director of Publicity and Strategy of Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) denied that there was no plan for government to divert any fund.

Oyatomi said, “rather, governmemt had set aside substantial amount of money to pay part of arrears of workers salary.”

According to him, governor Aregbesola had last Monday released the lumpsum of N19.801 Billion to settle four months arrears of salary and 2016 Leave allowance of all workers in the state.

He said, “Gov. Ategbesola has performed credibly well to be applauded for his achievements.”

Mr Oyatomi advised the PDP candidate to stop spreading falsehood to confuse the people in the state.
