We Are Not Part Of Coalition With APC, Says Osun Accord Party Chairman
The Chairman of ACCORD Party in Osun State, Otunba Olusegun Ayodele Fanibe has said the party is not in any coalition with other political parties in the country.
The Chairman was responding to a statement published by a major Newspaper on Wednesday 11th July, 2018 with the caption : “APC, 20 OTHERS POLITICAL PARTIES JOINS FORCES TO TACKLE ANTI-BUHARI COALITION”
In a statement made available to Journalists in Osogbo, Osun State capital by his MedIa Aide, MacDonald Oladipo, said, at no time did the National leadership of the party called us for any meeting to discuss such matter.
“The national chairman of ACCORD Party, Hon. Mohammed Nalado took the decision in his own capacity as as individual not for the general interest of the Party.”
Because in paragraph 15 of the report which read: Part of the 42 political parties they listed is ACCORD Party and the chairman of the party is here with us. If you are creating a coalition; you will need to be honest about it as to who and who are members of the coalition.”
So, in a clear term, I’m saying the decision is by the national chairman of the party for himself and not for all of us.”
No decision was taken by NEC of the party to form coalition with any parties.
“In the Coalition formed by 38 political parties including PDP, ACCORD party was not a part of it, how come Hon. Mohammed Nalado now claimed that ACCORD was part of it.”
However, we are not ruling out coalition for the general election coming up in 2019 but as at now, we are not in any coalition with either Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) of PDP or Coalition of Progressives Political Parties (CPPP) of APC.
The statement posited that ACCORD Party is contesting the September 22nd election in Osun State.
