Court Remands 3 Persons Over Alleged Armed Robbery, Possession Of Charms

A Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State capital Monday remanded three suspected persons in Ilesa prison custody over alleged armed robbery.

The accused persons including Bayo Ajisafe, 27, Wale Makinde, 29, and Olatoke Taiwo, 32 are facing a seven -count charge bordering on conspiracy, theft, illicit possession ,  armed robbery and attempt to kill.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Joshua Oladoye told the court that the defendants committed the offence on January 15 at about 2:30am at Oke-Ola, Olarewaju street, Osogbo.

Oladoye said the defendants conspired with others at large to rob one Hassan Clinton, Kehinde Hazzan, Olawale Christiana, and Anjola Malik of their valuables and some cash sum of money.

He said they carted away one infinix mobile phone, one IPad , Samsong J7 mobile phone, one sicco mobile phone with other items and all valued #467,500,00 naira.

He further explained that they also took away a cash sum of N 10 ,000 and threatened to kill Anjola Malik.

He also said the accused persons were in possession of guns  and assorted charms during the raid.

He said the offence contravened Sections 6(b), 1(2)(a)(b) , 3(1) punishable under Section 1(1) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions)  Act Cap R11 Vol.14 ,laws of the Federation of Nigeria and section 320(1)  of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun, 2002.

The defendants plea were not taken and had no legal representation.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola  Awodele ordered the trio to be kept in prison custody due to the magnitude of the alleged offence.
