Abducted Ogun Customs Officer Rescued
The Ogun Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service has rescued its officer, Inspector Abdullah Mohammad Kuso, who was allegedly abducted by the suspected smugglers.
Kuso, a Customs officer attached to NCS Ogun Command was abducted by some yet to be apprehended criminals on Saturday 7th July, this year.
According to a statement issued by Maiwada A.A, the Public Relations Officer of Customs Area Controller, Ogun Area Command said that Kuso was severely injured by his abductors.
The officer was said to have been kidnapped while a patrol he was with was set ablaze by the hoodlums.
“They succeeded in abducting and inflicting life threatening injury to an Inspector of Customs Abdullahi Mohammad Kuso attached to NCS Ogun Command.
“They further set ablaze Customs patrol base at Papalanto close Lafarge Cement Company. Although he was later rescued by officers of the Command. ”
“Full scale investigation is ongoing to fish out those who perpetuated this barbaric, cruel and inhumane aggression.
The command therefore sounded a notice of warning to smugglers and other criminally minded individuals to desist from their hostilities and crimes against the command.
“We therefore sound a note of warning to smugglers that Nigeria Customs Service Ogun Command will not relent in bringing to book economic saboteurs/criminals who often violently engage officers at various approved duty post, to the extent of inflicting injuries on officers, destroying Government properties, and constituting nuisance to the society.” the statement concluded .
