The First Lady in Oyo State, Mrs Florence Ajimobi has admonished Nigerians to develop the habit of praising God at all time regardless of challenges in the country because with faith all challenges would be completely addressed.
Ajimobi gave the admonition in Ibadan on Sunday while addressing believers at a programme titled”Raising an altar of Praise”
She advised that attention should not be on prayers alone stressing that appreciation of God’s goodness and protection could be demonstrated through praising Him.
“Most times we tend to focus more on prayers neglecting praise but the Bible makes it clear that praise is equally important as prayers or even more important..There are instances in the bible where victories were recorded through praise as in the cases of Jehosaphat and the wall of Jericho,She pointed out.
Mrs Ajimobi said that She believed that God “is drawing the attention of the Church to praises now more than ever before as a way of surmounting the challenges facing us as individuals as a nation at large”
The First Lady who is also the initiator of Women Intercessory Network (WIN) stressed the need to praise God “to shake every foundation of the devil, just as the praises of Paul and Silas caused a great earthquake and shook the foundation of the prison”
She further stated that when we praise God, we allow him to be himself and take over our challenges adding “when praises go up the power and presence of God come down and we are lifted”
The Oyo State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria,Pastor Benjamin Akanmu called on all genuine believers to key in into the habit of praising God as counselled by the First lady adding that praising is a great weapon to get miracles of God.
Other women ministers from different churches also featured during the three hours programme where many choristers displayed their spiritual gift.
