Islamic Movement, Shafaudeen Counsels FG, Lauds Its Efforts

The Federal Government has been commended by a renowned Islamic Movement, Shafaudeen In Islam  Worldwide over its efforts to address the nation’s challenges but pointed out that its efforts  have not been practically felt by the citizens.

Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide therefore counselled “Government should intensify effort on the diversification of the economy with emphasis on agricultural values and youth empowerment.

This was contained in a Communique  issued after the second Quarterly meeting of the Mission at Wakajaye Ibadan and which was jointly signed by the Founder, Spiritual Head and Grand Imam of Shafaudeen In Islam World Wide,Professor Sabit A.Olagoke JP and Engineer Teribiya B.S.Aderinto.

On the next year’s general election,Council “implored the politicians and political parties to refrain from hate speeches, campaign of calumny  and such unholy acts that may heat up the polity,” adding that “rather,they are enjoined to be altruisic and legacy driven in their mission and vision for positive governance”.

Regarding insecurity like  Boko Haram insurgency,Fulani Herdsmen attacks and others,Shafaudeen called for a new strategy though commended the efforts of the Federal government adding “there is a need to restrategize and lay more emphasis on intelligence gathering.

This,it believed,the criminal activities of of the anti-social groups would be discovered  and nipped in the bud before they are executed stressing that this will be better than medicine after death which is always adopted.

The Mission also joined the call for restructuring in every facets of the counrtyi’s life emphasising that “restructuring will address salient national challenges.There is a need for downward review of salaries of political office holders vis-a-vis civil servants to be commensurate with the prevailing economic realities”.

It further called on various governments to pay good attention to the education sector through additional and better funding adding “Government should ensure that educational policies are geared towards production of  more craftsmen,technicians,and technologists as against the production of university graduates in order to enhan employment and national productivity”

Shafaudeen -In -Islam World Wide reiterated that religious leaders have a great role to play in entrenching good governance,pleading to them to teach moral values in order to restore our  values and dignity into  the country adding that the Mission would not relent on its intercession for the country until peace and stability as well as economic buoyancy are restored to Nigeria.
