A community based group, Iwo Collectives has condemned the appointment of Hon Razaq Salinsile as new Chief of Staff to Governor Rauf Aregbesola, says it was an act of deceit to get votes from Iwo, and it’s environs for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was contained in a statement issued by the National Convener, Akin Asifat-Gofment, and Secretary, Akin Ande-Afrika in Iwo, and made available to CityMirrowNews on Friday.
According to the statement, “It has come to our attention the recent appointment of Hon.Razaq Salinsile as Chief of Staff(CoS).
“Our collectives consider this as gimmick to woo the oppressed masses/people of Iwo having neglected them for years.”
“It is our resolve to make it known to the public that Iwo is amongst politically strong cities in the State of Osun considering the humongous number of votes realize by ruling party (APC) in the state&her historic roles in political affairs of Nigeria.
“But sad to note, that the state has failed to execute tangible projects which could be beneficial to the good people of Iwo&such to elevate poor socioeconomic status of the Iwo habitants.
“We in Iwo Collectives see this appointment of a former state representative as deception by the APC/PDP-led government of the State of Osun which our people painstakingly supported through her trying period &this can not in anyway change their resolve to follow their heart comes Sept.22 governorship election.
“Iwo people are not intellectual vegetable.
“We are using this medium to challenge the state government&their goons in Iwo to point out any meaningful project executed for our people that could equalize what they had gained/benefitted in Iwo.
“It is our resolve to make it known to the public that Iwo is amongst politically strong cities in the State of Osun considering the humongous number of votes realize by ruling party (APC) in the state&her historic roles in political affairs of Nigeria”.
It further alleged Osun government of failing to execute tangible projects which could be beneficial to the good people of Iwo and such to elevate poor socioeconomic status of the Iwo habitants.
The group challenged Osun government to point out any meaningful project executed for the people of the sleepy community that could equalize what they had gained/benefitted in Iwo.
“We will continue to demand for the reconstruction of Osogbo-Iwo road, Iwo-Lagun road ,Iwo-Gbongan road and Iwo-Oyo road Upgrading of Iwo Water Works , establishment of State-owned institution, Equipping Government General Hospital,Iwo&maternity centres,&et cetera.
“To us, all these are alienable, as APC/PDP government in the state consistently raping us of all these and decided to concentrate projects:road construction, establishment of tertiary institutions, construction of ultra modern multimillion water works and all other into certain area of the state.
“We therefore challenge Osun government on the need for equitable distribution of state resources to ensure social security for the people”.
