Esa-Oke Killings: Gani Adams Vows To Protect Yoruba Territory With The Last Drop Of His Blood
Perturbed by the killing and abduction of innocent souls by some suspected Fulani herdsmen in Esa-oke,the country home of late chief Bola IGE, the Are onakakanfo of Yoruba land and the leader of the Odua Peoples Congress (OPC), Gani Adams Friday vowed to protect his territory with the last drop of his blood.
The Yoruba warlord who made the affirmative statement while speaking with CityMirrorNewa through the Osun State Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) coordinator, Prince Adedeji Aladesawe, said,Yoruba territory is as important to him as blood flowing in his vein and pledged to do all he could to see that lives and property of his kinsmen are defended and protected from untimely death.
While condemning the spate of killing of the Yorubas in the South-western part of the country by unknown gunmen, Adams assured that very soon, he would call a stakeholder meeting of the race to see how such would be averted in the land.
He however charged sons and daughters of the Yoruba to be calm and assured that, invasion of outsiders to claim innocent lives would soon be a thing of the past in the Yoruba kingdom.
Prince Aladewase however warned evil perpetrators to stay away from the territory and also charged them to be civil in their acts.
Meanwhile,the death of an employee of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-oke,Olaniyi Emmanuel whose life was callously terminated by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Esa-oke of Oriade local government of the state three days ago has thrown the faculty of Education of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-ife into a mourning session as the deceased was one of its graduating post graduate doctorate degree students for this December convocation programme.
The deceased who graduated from the institution for the 2015/2016 session said to be a committed and dedicated student throughout his schooling period in the institution.
Speaking with newsmen on the death of the departed soul,the Head, Department of Educational Foundations and Counselling, Dr. Yemi Adediwura described his death as a big blow to the faculty and prayed to God to give the affected family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Dr. Adediwura while commenting on the deceased death, referred to him as a serious student with auspicious life while in the faculty.
According to him, ” We sympathize with the affected family, the Faculty of Education, his department, Educational Management and the institution as a whole and we pray to God to give him eternal rest in the blossom of Christ.”
