…..Says We Need Marketable candidate
An aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, has called on the members of the party to support a credible candidate that has the clout to win the gubernatorial election scheduled for July to pave way for the party’s victory in the Osun State polls billed for September 22.
Daramola who said money could not buy interest and love of the Ekiti people urged the party to present a flag bearer that has good character, integrity and honesty to govern the people if elected.
He stated this while featuring on Rave FM radio program on Monday in Osogbo.
The former Ekiti State House of Representatives stressed that the symbol of good governance by Governor Rauf Aregbesola was a testament that the APC would emerge victorious in the coming gubernatorial election in the state.
CityMirrorNews recalls that the Ekiti APC primary elections was cancelled after the political thugs invaded the venue while the election was still on.
Daramola alleged the former governor of Ekiti state Dr. Kayode Fayemi who is the present Minister of Solid Mineral of compromised with the security and secretary of the working committee Hon. Magaji, a development which he said later degenerated to crisis .
He said: ” Dr. Fayemi collected the form in 23 April, some weeks ahead of the primaries and he wanted to influence the delegates with money. He promised them huge amount.
However, the aide to Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Mr. Adebisi Adesuwon denied the allegations. He argued that his boss (Fayemi) did not promise delegates any money as alleged by Daramola.
He said that the people were willing to cast their votes for Fayemi in a peaceful manner but some thugs came and disrupted the process because they felt that Dr. Fayemi would emerge victorious in the election.
He added that even if the party conducted primary election 10 times, his boss would always defeat them.
