Olabamiji who described as exceptional and monumental the achievement of Governor Aregbesola, said that the Governor has set a pace for other state governors to follow.

He made the disclosure while feilding questions from journalists in Osogbo, the state capital.

Olabamiji is contesting for Septemner 22 governorship election in Osun also declared that the successor of Governor Aregbesola should come from Osun West senatorial district in the spirit of fairness.

According to him, the extent of progress the state has recorded in the last seven years would better be appreciated after Governor Rauf Aregbesola has exited office.

The Iwo-born technocrat said the progress Osun has recorded in the area of infrastructural amenities between year 2011 and now shows the strenght and fecundity of the mind leading the state.

He added that whoever will succeed Aregbesola will be stepping into a big shoe and offered himself as “the most suitable” candidate with the wherewithal to sustain the progress recorded thus far.

“We will appreciate Governor Aregbesola better after leaving office. He has done enough to deserve a prominent place in the history of our dear state. To keep the pace of this success story, I am offering my self and I believe having sound mind leading the state back to back is what Osun needs at the moment”, Olabamiji said.

On the agitation that Osun West should produce Aregbesola’s successor, Olabamiji said West Senatorial has several people that can serve as governor and outperform even the incumbent.

He dismissed insinuations that the zone is bereft of people good enough to lead the state, saying “the next governor that will rule Osun will come from the West Senatorial District and do better because there is path to development already laid by Aregbesola”.
