Retired General, Jon Temlong Emerges Plateau State ADP Governorship Candidate

A retired Brigadier General, Jon Temlong has emerged the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, in Plateau state as the party gears up for 2019 elections.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Danjuma Auta, a copy of which was obtained by City Mirror News, noted that Temlong was officially unveiled at the party’s state secretariat in Jos on Monday by the National Welfare Secretary and leader of the party in the state, Hon Samuel Gyang.
Temlong is replacing the party’s former governorship candidate, Pastor Margret Inusa.
“According to Sam Gyang, the replacement was borne out of the collective resolve by the party Caucus after wide consultation and strategic realignment. He pointed out that the people of Plateau state have resolved to return to the path of honour, peace, and development hence the need to pick Gen. Temlong as the man for the job.” The statement said.
“An ADP government in Plateau state under Temlong will take advantage of the state’s numerous resources, both human and material to transform the fortunes of the state into a key player in economic development and will promote a peaceful coexistence”, He said.
Gyang further disclosed “that the ADP has zoned its governorship ticket to the Southern Senatorial District for strategic reasons, called on the people of Plateau state to vote for the ADP in all the elections come 2019.”
In his acceptance speech, Temlong thanked the former candidate, Pastor Margret Inusa for her magnanimity and promised to recover the lost glory of Plateau state through a 3 point agenda anchored on ‘Stable Peace, Security, and Progress.’
The governorship candidate maintained that his decision to, “run for the number one office in Plateau state is a call to duty and enjoined all the good people of Plateau state to key into this clarion call and vote for the ADP come 2019.”
