As Osun 2018 gubernatorial election draws near, a sociopolitical organization, Osun Continuity Movement, will today, July 6, embark on solidarity walk in support of Osun West Senatorial agitation to produce next governor of the state.
In the last few months, many indigenes of the West Senatorial have been agitating that the district should be allowed to produce Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s successor.
The group in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Miftah Saheed said that the walk is organized to create awareness and chart a path towards reenacting APC’s victorious outing of year 2014.
Saheed further explained that the road walk which starts from the popular Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, will move through Okefia to Alekuwodo and Olaiya before it will finally terminates at APC party secretariat.
Urging people to be punctual, Saheed announced that the exercise will commence by 8am.
He therefore urged the intending participants to be law abiding during and after the exercise, adding that as stakeholders in Osun politics, the group intends to present position paper to the APC leadership after the walk.
