Breaking: Osun APC Loyalists Converge On Osogbo, cleanse PDP Campaign Venue

Residents of Osun has once again demonstrated their love for the APC led government in Osun as people trooped out in their numbers to do a symbolic sweeping of the PDP from the streets of Osogbo the state capital.

Led by the state party chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun, the residents converged at freedom park as early as seven O clock in the morning to carry out the exercise.

PDP held its South-West zonal rally in Osogbo on Saturday with its National Chairman,  Uche Secondus, in attendance.

INEC had fixed Sept. 24 as the governorship election in the state.

Speaking shortly before the commencement of the symbolic sweeping, the state party chairman said the exercise became necessary because freedom park and the entire town was defaced as result of the PDP South west rally which the state hosted on Saturday.

He said being a party that cares for the well being of the environment, the APC decided to clean up the mess left behind by the PDP after their rally.

“Because we are party  that cares for the well being of the environment, we decided APC to clean up the mess left behind by the PDP after their rally” Famodun said.

He said APC was not in any way intimidated by the PDP zonal rally, saying that APC was fully prepared for the election.

According to Famodun , the few people that defected to PDP during its rally were no longer relevant to the party.

He said APC, in the next few months would conduct its primary to elect the party candidate for the election.

“We are a political party and we have programme of events and in the next few months,  we will conduct our primary for our aspirants and subsequently,  other events will follow.

Also speaking,  Dr Ajibola Bashiru, the Osun Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice,  said the party embarked on the symbolic sweeping to sweep away hunger and poverty brought brought to the state by PDP.

Bashiru said that APC was unshaken by the PDP rally,  saying Osogbo is the bedrock of APC in th  state.

He said the few people that defected people were no longer important to the party.

“Specifically, Fatai Diekola that defected to PDP yesterday is a political contractor, claiming to be a politician and we are not bothered about that.
