Thus, to remain relevant and on the path of honour and success, there is the need for continuous learning and unlearning as the case may be.

This was contained in the acceptance speech, delivered by the Director, Home Finance, Federal Ministry of Finance, Abuja, Mrs. Olubunmi Olasunbo Siyanbola on the occasion of her decoration and conferment of the Award of honourary Doctorate Degree (PHD) in Accounting and Finance (Honouris Causa) by the ESCAE-Benin University, Cotonou, Republic of Benin.

While stating that the ceremony marked another milestone in the life of the Awardees and Grandaunts, Parents, the University and the Society at large, she said “all must continue to maintain high educational standards as Education, which is very important to our survival, is the pivot on which all development in every strata stand.”

She also stressed that all should continuously raise the Education and skill level of the people to be globally competitive as individuals, as organisation and as a Country.

She charged the graduands never to slide into complacency or active inertia mode but be alive to their environment as there are countless opportunities for them even in the face of threats in the global economic arena.

Mrs Siyanbola who said apart from being good ambassadors of the Institution, urged the graduands to be industrious and illustrious to be able to tap from the brimming opportunities and possibilities that abound in the African Continent

Mrs Siyanbola also admonished the ESCAE –BENIN University to maintain its standard by keeping its known principles of discipline, character and integrity.

She further urged the University to continually strive to assist the African Continent to raise new generation of visionary Leaders for the future and also include the life training skills needed  to be impacted into the youths to make them responsible members of the society.

Mrs. Siyanbola thanked the University Council, Management and staff for finding her worthy, by admitting her into the reserved family of the University with the conferment of the honourary Doctorate Degree on her, adding that there were so many men and women deserving of the Award.

Dr. Mrs. Siyanbola had her first Degree, Bsc. (Hons Economics) at the University of Ibadan and had her Masters in Public Administration at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

She started her Public service career in 1985 as an Adminstrative Oficer at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife.

In 1999, she was absorbed into the mainstream of the Federal Public service as Chief Administrative Officer.

She was regularised as Assistant Director in the National Poverty EEradication Program (NAPEP) in year 2004.

In November 2008, she was deployed to the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) as Deputy Director, Strategy and Innovation Department.

She played active and remarkable roles in the civil service reforms in Nigeria. She was further redeployed to the Ministry of Defence as Deputy Director, Air Force Hardware in December, 2009. Mrs. Siyanbola was the Acting Director, Air Force Affairs Department for almost one and half years.

Mrs. Siyanbola is a professional and dogged administrator. She is creative and committed, loyal, focused, hardworking and undeterred by any obstacle in her line of duty.

She is highly knowledgeable and very dynamic in her approach to problem solving and the pursuit of excellence in the discharge of her duties. In recognition of her sterling and rare qualities, she got spotted at every stage in the course of her service for onerous ad-hoc assignments.

In the year 2011, she was promoted as a full-fledged Director in the Federal Civil Service and was formally deployed in November 2012 as the substantive Director, Air Force Affairs Department, Ministry of Defence.  Yet, redeployment in May 2013 took her to the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Government Affairs as Director, Inter-Governmental Affairs. Also in September 2013, she was redeployed to Budget Office of the Federation (BOF) as Director, Revenue.  From BOF to Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in March 2016 as Director, Planning, Research and Statistics.

In October 2016, she was further redeployed to Federal Ministry of Finance, as Director, Home Finance till date.

In the year 2017, she was appointed as a member of the Board of Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA). Also, in 2018, the Federal Government of Nigeria appointed her as Chairman/Member of a number of other Federal Government agencies.

She is happily married to Dr. Adeniyi Siyanbola and blessed with great children.
