Baptist Church Ordains New Deacons

The First Baptist Church, Jos, Plateau state Sunday, ordained new set of deacons and deaconesses. The program which held at the Church’s auditorium had 3 deacons and 6 deaconesses being ordained.
They are Masters Rasheed Aiyede, Samuel Adeoye and Michael Odeyale.
Others are Mrs. Alice Oladayo, Awotoye Bola, Adewole Idowu, Bola Ojo, Deborah Oyalana and Kehinde Olorunleke.
The new Ordinands were presented to the congregation by the minister in charge of the Church, Revd. Sunday Fabunmi.
The new President of the Central Baptist Conference (CBC), Rev. Dr. K. K. Saleh while delivering his sermon summoned the new Ordinands to be replica of Jesus Christ in their character, deeds and conduct.
He warned them not to be “trouble makers but problem solvers” and work towards achieving the goal of Christianity which is to be witnesses and bringing people to the understanding of the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
The fierce preacher urged them to support the ministry and vision of the minister in charge and never to create division in the body Christ.
Laying of hands on the Ordinands was coordinated by the Chairman, Central Baptist Conference (CBC), Rev. Abraham Oduntan. They were thereafter taken through the Litany of Commitment by Rev. D.A. Ogundayo.
Dignitaries at the event were President and Chairman of the Central Baptist Conference, Chairman, Deacon’s Fellowship (CBC), Dns. Rahila Bafur, Rev. Bolaji Oyateru, Rev. Deborah Ayandele, Rev. D.A Ogundayo.
Others are Rev. Timothy Odelowo, Rev. S.T.A. Opajinmi, Rev. Ephraim Yakubu, Rev. Caleb Maila Odah, Dcns. Alice Affon and Dn. Bayo Oyeniyi among others.
The Church which is the first Baptist Church in Northern Nigeria last had deacon ordination in 2011.
