A statement from the party’s Directorate of Publicity, Research and Strategy, signed by its Director, Kunle Oyatomi and made available to the media in Osogbo today, the APC said ‘those who do not see anything good in Aregbesola should come to Olaiya junction, Osogbo on Tuesday when the governor will declare open a dual carriage way dedicated to workers in the state.

The party said that ‘in spite of the difficulty that the state is going through financially, workers’ interest remain paramount in the thinking of the governor so much so that he named a major access way ‘Workers Drive’.

‘Things are changing. People are marvelling at how it is possible for Aregbesola in spite of financial difficulty, he keeps accomplishing projects which richer states in the country are not doing.

‘Those who are criticizing the governor refused to recognize the uncommon intelligence required for any leader to work his way skillfully around such economic impasse as Osun has gone through since 2014 till date.

‘The classic infrastructural road network in Osogbo which Aregbesola has put in place and continue to construct about eight months into the end of his tenure will become the hub of profitable economic networking which only good infrastructure promotes.

‘With the naming of the new ‘Workers Drive’, Aregbesola has shamed the opposition whìch has accused him of not doing much for workers.

‘A man who cares less for workers would not think of naming a major street in Osogbo, a ‘Workers Drive’.

‘When Aregbesola became governor of Osun, he inherited an administration and economic space that was considered the third poorest in Nigeria. But today, Osun is acknowledged as amongst the best ten states in Nigeria, whose economy is seen as progressive, socially responsible, peaceful and with the least number of unemployed youths.

‘As you read this, a number of states richer than Osun, have laid off workers in their thousands; some others have not paid salaries for up to seven months.

But Aregbesola refused to go down that path. Instead, he developed a modulated salary scheme, which left 70 percent of workers with their full salaries; ten percent with three quarters of their salaries while only 20 percent are paid half salaries’.

The APC spoke further: ‘there’s nothing the opposition did not do to incite workers and pensioners against Aregbesola. Tension built in the state due to the lie and misinformation which gave the impression that Aregbesola was paying half salary to all categories of workers.

‘Falsehood has had its day in Osun, but now truth has risen like the sunshine and has diminished that falsehood.
‘Today, pensioners have since last week been collecting their pensions and gratuities in their thousands. But the opposition has eyes only to see a hundred.

‘Those who will have the courage to be at Olaiya, Osogbo will never go back home and say Aregbesola has done nothing for the state of Osun. The story is indeed changing, the APC said.

According to the party, ‘what is visible and touchable on ground is an unstoppable vindication that Aregbesola is doing what nobody ever has done in Osun.
