Following the reconciliatory moves embarked upon by the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Prince Uche Secondus, the Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo group of Osun State PDP on Wednesday withdrew a suit seeking enforcement of judgement against the party.
The litigation before the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo was instituted against the Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee last year with intent to validate the congresses of the elected executives of the party under Hon. Adagunodo.
Holding brief for the plaintiffs, Barrister N.O. Oke (SAN), who confirmed the withdrawal of the case while addressing the court said “the case was filed during the tenure of the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee with intent to validate the congresses of the elected executives of the party under Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo.

However, Barrister N.O Oke said further that “the matter is an internal issue which the party has decided to settle amicably out of court, especially, now that the new leadership of the party is making frantic efforts to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party.”
Barrister Oke also reiterated that the personality of the new National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus and his working committee members and the way they are handling conflicts in the party calls for amicable resolution since inception of the new leadership of the party which he said is very encouraging and doesn’t call for legal tussle any longer.

According to Barrister Oke, the two conditions we gave the new national Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus and his team were: enforcement of our judgement and or to complete our outstanding Ward, Local Government and State congresses which they have agreed to oblige us.

“The new leaderahip of our party has been very serious with the promise of not allowing impunity or imposition in the party and we have absolute trust in them so far, hence, our reason for withdrawing this case,” he explained while addressing the court.
