The Elders council of the All Progressives Congress in Ede South local government area of Osun on Wednesday refuted the news recently report published a national news paper and some online media that the town was not part of the agitation to push for Aregbesola’s successor from the West senatorial district of the state.
The elders who frown at statement credited to one Mr Deji Agboola, whom they alleged to have been working against the interest of the people of the zone called on the party leadership to warn Agboola to desist from any activities capable of causing crisis among the members of the party in the area.
Recall that Deji Agboola had recently declared that the agitation by some elders in Osun west senatorial district that the APC flag bearer for the coming Sept 22 governorship election be picked from the zone was a mere joke, an idea which does not go along way with provision of party constitution.
Agboola was quoted while affirming his support for one of the APC aspirant who visited the area on consultation that “the Ede South Elders are not part of the Osun West Agenda, saying though, they are part of West senatorial district but are totally against such agitation as it is against the spirit and letter of Nigeria’s and APC constitution. He described the zoning as inimical to growth and development of any society.
However, Ede South APC elders Forum in a Statement singed by Suraju Akorede and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, explained that Agboola statement does not in any way represent the general opinion of the elders of the APC in Ede South.
According to the statement ‘’This is due to the fact that the Elders council of the APC in Ede South are integral part of the party structure in the west senatorial district of our state and cannot and will not do anything or dissociate ourselves from any collective agitation that will serve the collective interest of our party. ‘’

‘’it is important to state here that in our collective resolve to toe the line of justice and fairplay, we identify with our colleagues and leaders in other local governments of the West senatorial district in this struggle.’’
The statement called on general public to be wary of actions and characters of Deji Agboola who, its said is popularly known for all -round fraudulent activities in the party in Ede South and beyond.
Deji Agboola is known for incidents of names dropping, forgery and obtain by false pretenses. He has several challenges hanging around his neck like the case of using his immediate brother Damola and one of his wives to extort money from delegates during APC party activities in Ibadan in 2014.
‘’Dropping of the name of a former honorable member to commit fraud in the State college of Education, Ila Orangun in 2013 and impersonation of late senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke in one of federal government agencies in Abuja before the late senator ordered that he shouldn’t be allowed into his house anywhere again. “His latest fraudulent act is his claim of being the chairman of elders council of Ede South APC. He added.
The statement disclosed that Such a well known character with a very huge moral burden is not qualified to speak on behalf of his immediate family in the public talk less of a party known for good qualities at all levels.
