Timi of Ede Canvasses Support for Aregbesola, Says His Performance Outstanding
The Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal has called on the people of the state not to cease their support for Governor Rauf Aregbesola and the All Progressives Congress for continuity of good governance and development of the state.
Oba Lawal who described Aregbesola’s performance as outstanding said no governor has surpassed his achievements in the history of the state.
The royal father stated this in his palace while playing a host on the governor who was on a goodwill visit to the people of Ede Federal Constituency which comprises Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Local Governments.
Congratulating Aregbesola on his achievements in the last seven and half years, Oba Lawal said it is impossible for anyone to say the governor has not raised the bar of governance in Osun, saying that the state has continued to witness unprecedented development in all aspects of the economy.
Oba Lawal who prayed for APC to emerge victorious in the coming gubernatorial elections in the state, said continuity remains only way to sustain the transformation programmes of the Aregbesola government.
He said: “I want to use this medium to congratulate our governor on his achievements in the state in the last seven and half years. Whether you like it or not, one cannot say that Aregbesola has not done well in Osun.
“Ede land has truly benefited from this administration’s intervention in making life better for the masses, you cannot satisfy everybody but truth must be told, this the present government has tried for us in Osun.
“Anytime I travel to the Gbongan axis of the state and I see the dual carriage way under construction, especially the Adebisi Akande interchange bridge, I always say to my driver that Aregbesola should be praised for developing Osun.
“When I pass through the East-by-pass road, I always marvel and say to myself that this is indeed wonderful because I never imagined our state could be transformed like this in my life time. We are indeed very grateful to God for transforming the state through you.”
While addressing members of the federal constituency, Aregbesola called on people of the area to work towards ensuring that the flag bearer of the APC emerged as the next governor of the state.
He said the APC is still geared towards touching the lives of the masses in the state through purposeful government, explaining that the only way to ensure that Osun continues to enjoy steady growth and development is by allowing the party to continue ruling the state.
Aregbesola dispelled the rumour making the rounds that there is a cold war between himself and the Timi of Edeland, saying the monarch and himself are working towards ensuring that the people of the area enjoy the dividends of democracy.
The governor explained that the visit was to gear party members on the need to begin door-door campaign ahead of the governorship election scheduled for September 22, 2018.
“I want to appeal to members of our great party on the need to allow our party to continue in the saddle of leadership of our dear state no matter the choice of candidate, this is for the good of Osun.
“We are still eager to develop our state, we still have a lot to offer as a party and we need the members of this great party to be careful not to let it slip from our fingers for the sake of our people. The People’s Democratic Party has nothing good to offer our people, we should not make the mistake of allowing them to return.
“I don’t want you to believe the rumour that there is a crisis between me and the Timi of Edeland, there can never be crisis because we are partners in progress for the good of our people”, Aregbesola stressed.
