Osun: Zoning Is Alien To The Progressive Movement- Council Boss

A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, Hon Adekunle Benson has described as alien and unconstitutional the clamour for zoning by certain individuals in the party.

Benson who is the chairman, Orolu Local Government disclosed this at the Ongoing Gboyega Oyetola Campaign and Consultation tour to the 30 local governments and area councils of the state.

He took all down the memory lane the days of old Oyo State where late Chief Bola Ige from ESA Oke was Governor and late Chief SM Afolabi was Deputy with Chief Bisi Akande of Ila as SSG all of them from the same axis of Osun ‘This and a host of other antecedents are why we in Irepodun and Orolu federal constituency are choosing Merit over Zoning. Good governance is uppermost for us’ .

He therefore declared his support and that of his entire constituency for the Gboyega Oyetola gubernatorial bid to the cheers of all present.

The  Ileri Oluwa Consultation  tour which since inception had shaken the very foundation of the Party and State due to the never before seen influx of crowd  into every nooks and cranies visited by the team , a factor which saw to record breaking declarations for the APC party due to what many have termed as ‘strategic campaigning and indepth messages .

Gboyega Oyetola who moves with an array of Grassroots politicians, Highly respected community leaders , and an impressive number of Technocrats , Scholars and Experts never fail to impress when himself and these seasoned individuals takes to the podium with a long list of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s led administration achievements and concise analysis of subsequent challenges and the means to tackle each.

‘I am part and parcel of this government, I would never need to grope. I am part of all the policies formulation and implementation. I know where we are at and where to pick up from. Through the dynamism of My boss Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola , the state of Osun has recorded unprecedented level of growth. That is why we need to ensure continuity so as to sustain this developmental pace.’

Speaking further , he added that  ‘..every zone would eventually be affected positively. My campaign has indeed opened my eyes further to the sophistication of the Electorate of the state of Osun.
