New Year: Oduoye Wants Politicians To Desist From Paying Lip Service To People’s Welfare
A governorship aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)) in Osun state, Dr. Kayode Oduoye, has called on politicians in the country to desist from paying lip service to the welfare of the masses and do more in catering for thier welfare in the new year.
Oduoye, who disclosed this in a new year congratulatory message made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, said those politicians already trusted with public offices should gear efforts towards providing good life for those who elected them, saying little or nothing was done by them in this regard in the outgone year 2017.
The 2015 PDP candidate for Ifelodun/Boripe and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency election, also called on aspiring office seekers to make people’s welfare major issue in their manifestoes for 2018 /2019 election.
The statement further reads: “I urge Nigerians to work smarter in 2018 by been creative on how they can add to the nation’s development, than being a liability waiting on government to rain manner on them.
“I pray God to make 2018 a prosperous year for us all, amen. But let’s be watchful and select only God fearing leaders when time to do that comes.”
