Don’t Politicize Osun Airports, Osun Speaker Warns Opposition
Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam has warned the opposition politicians from attacking Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola airport in Ido Osun project that has just won the heart of investors.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Goke Butika, Speaker Salaam asserted that the public private partnership which attracts Turkish interest that has signed a deal to build the airport to international standard with aircraft maintenance facility must not be politicized or jeopardized on the altar of bad politicking.
Speaker Salaam said the airport project has its imprint since the days of colonial rule and it got a good attention while Olagunsoye Oyinlola administration lasted; saying that the Rauf Aregbesola administration’s intervention which has brought a rewarding concession must not be pummeled to score cheap political goal.
He then appealed to partisans to sheath sword on the airport project and allow it to come alive as a collective heritage of all Osun people, noting that unborn generations would not forgive whoever, whether an individual or a group who make an attempt to stall the progress of the project.
