May Day: Osun Assembly Lauds Workers for Steadfastness
Osun State House of Assembly under the Leadership of Rt Honourable Najeem Salam has felicitated with the Civil Servants for the 2017 May Day Celebration.
In a statement by the Chairman, House Committee Chairman on Information and Strategy, Hon.Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the parliament eulogied the workers describing them as partners in progress in nation building.
While charging them to renew support for both the state and federal government in the ongoing fight against corruption, it stress that the civil servants have strategic roles to play in ensuring that leakages in government are blocked so that funds can be free for development.
It calls on the workers to sustain existing industrial harmony between labour and government.
Acknowledging the workers for their commitment to service of the fatherland, the statement notes that all indications have emerged that both the federal and the state governments are on the part of ensuring speedy economic recovery and are paying deserved attention to the workers welfare.
The Assembly further commends the maturity of the labour unions, saying, this comportment had created enabling enviroment leading to continue development of the state.
“Osun workers have shown understanding and played their parts towards ensuring the development of the state and this gesture must be commended by all”
The Assembly then assures that it will not relent in giving Legislative support to matters that would boost the moral of workers, protect their rights and privileges.
