Ex-Osogbo Chairman Docked Over Alleged Theft

An Ex-chairman of Olarewaju Social Club, Osogbo, Omolola Taiwo has been arraigned by the Osun State Police Command before a magistrates’ court sitting in Osogbo over alleged theft.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Mudi Alice had told the court that the accused allegedly forged the signature of the incumbent chairman of the club to withdraw the sum of N1,407,000 without the consent of the club between the year 2016 and 2017.
Alice said the offence committed was contrary to and punishable under Section 467 of the Criminal Code cap 34 Vol II, Laws of Osun State, Nigeria, 2003.
Meanwhile the accused person pleaded not guilty to the allegation preferred against him.
Defence counsel, Mrs Fatima Adeshina humbly applied for the bail of her client in the most liberal terms.
In her rulings, Magistrate Habibat Basiru granted the accused bail in the sum of N1million with two sureties in the like sum.
She,thereafter, adjourned the case till October 10, 2017 for hearing.
