By-election: Osun PDP Alleges Plot By APC to Adorn Its Thugs In PDP Uniform

As the forthcoming Osun West Senatorial District By-Election draws nearer, the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has alleged the All Progressives Congress of planning to create fake T-shirts branded with the party’s logo to unleash mayhem on the election day.

A statement by the state chairman of the party, Soji Adagunodo in Osogbo on Friday said the issue has been predominant during elections thereby causing confusion on who perpetrated the act.

According to the PDP, the step is in furtherance of the violent act committed by hoodlums purportedly financed by the state government in Ido-Osun, Egbedore local government area of the state during their campaign on Thursday.

Osun state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party however disassociated itself from the scenario pledging its commitment to the safeguard of true Democratic tenets.

It reads “Our strength is in the voting power of the electorates who are being effectively mobilised to kick out the oppressive and retrogressive government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola beginning from the forthcoming by-election in Osun West Senatorial District.”

“We urge our members to remain vigilant and report any person constituting a threat to their safety and security to relevant agencies of government as well as the party leadership”, the statement concluded.
