Osun 2018: APC to Lift Ban for Aspirants on Friday Sept 1
There are indications that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State might lift ban on the campaign for the 2018 governorship ticket of the party.
Governorship aspirants under the party would be free to declare their ambitions and embark on campaign after the lifting of the ban.
The APC had early this year barred the gubernatorial aspirants from campaigning; saying that doing such would heat up the polity and cause distraction for Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the party leadership has concluded to lift the ban and allow the aspirants to embark on campaign.
Popular among the APC governorship aspirants are: Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, the current Secretary to the State Government, Honourable Najeem Salam, the Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Elder Peter Babalola, the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission and Mr Kunle Adegoke, a legal practitioner.
There are insinuations that Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the Chief of Staff to Governor Rauf Aregbesola and Mr Bola Oyebamiji, the Commissioner for Finance are interested in the governorship seat. They were said to be Aregbesola’s favourites. But the duo has not come out to declare their ambition.
