Cleric Advises Muslims To Utilize Their Health, Wealth Advance Islam
An Abuja Based Islamic Cleric, Sheikh
Yahya Al-Yolawi, on Friday in Abuja advised Muslims to properly use
their health, wealth and time to advance the course of Islam.
Al-Yolawi, who is the Chief Imam of Area 10, Abuja Mosque, gave the advice while delivering Juma’ah Sermon titled, “ Make Use of Five Things Before Five Things Happen to You.“
The cleric said that Islam had encouraged every Muslims to take
advantage of his or her good health before they were overcome with
illness or disability.
He said that Islam considered the life time of Muslims as a great
valuable resource, thus believers were encouraged to be conscious of
their actions and in actions.
According to him, to achieve maximum benefit out of life, every Muslim
needs to recognise its importance and organise it wisely.
“ What we often don’t realise is that our health is a blessing from Allah. When we are in good health, we take it for granted and don’t always appreciate what we have.
“ It is only when we fall sick that we realize a great blessing we had and how we lost it by not doing as much as we could have done.
“ If human beings do not waste or abuse life but rather perceive it as a blessing from Allah, they will have every chance and hope for success in this life and in the hereafter.
“ Thus the messenger of Allah encourages us to make best use of our
time, health, wealth, youthful age and life, “ Al-Yolawi said.
Similarly, he stressed the need for Muslims to take advantage of their
wealth to support the course of Islam, saying“ one day, a person might have the best of jobs or businesses; yet, the next day it will
be otherwise.
Al-Yolawi also advised the adherents to use their free time before they become too busy or preoccupied, saying that Muslims should avoid wasting their time on television and the social media.
“ We should use our free time to engage in the remembrance and worship of Allah and seeking knowledge.
“Free time could also be invested in helping others with the little opportunity you have or by learning a trade or skill that can benefit others in this world,“ he said. (NAN)
