Security: Osun NSCDC Trains Private Security Personnel

As part of the core-mandate of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) in the training and retraining of personnel of private guards companies across the country, the Osun State Command of the corp has trained 45 personnel from registered private security outfits in the state.

The training According to a release signed by the agency’s Public Relation Officer, Babawale Afolabi and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo on Friday, was held at the State Command Headquarters of the NSCDC in Osogbo.

The training however saw the coming together of men and women from the different security organisations in the state being tutored by seasoned instructors from the corp.

At the end of the training, the Head Of Department, Private Guards Company (PGC), Deputy Commandant, Anyadioha Kenneth charged the participants to see themselves as worthy ambassadors of the security outfits they represent.

He also stated that the essence of the exercise was to help them perform their duties well as enshrined in the PGC Act as all well as curbing kidnapping and curtailing other criminal acts in the society.

He also added that with the training, the personnel of these private companies were conforming to international best standards as it was been done in other parts of the world.

The PGC head disclosed that with the training, the private guards were now equipped with knowledge and requisite skill security wise with which to go about their duty diligently.

“Arm yourselves with the skill and knowledge you have acquired during this training and apply it diligently.

“When doing this, keep in mind that security is everybody’s business and do not take laws into your hand. Any case that needs the attention of the Nigerian police and NSCDC should be referred immediately”.
