Osun Cleric Fasts 40days Over Nigeria’s Socioeconomic Predicaments
—–Urges Citizens On Same Gesture—–
It was an atmosphere full of euphoric funfare, jubilation, praises, dancing, excitement and thanksgiving to Almighty God as the entire congregation of God of Fire Global Evangelical Ministry popularly called (GOFGEM) celebrated the end of special 40 days fast ordered by the founder of the Ministry, Evangelist Peter Kolajo.
The fasting and prayers were learned to have been ordered as panacea to deliver the nation from her plethora challenges and as well set the nation to the path of socioeconomic abundance.
The special thanksgiving service which according to message issued from the media unit of the Ministry aimed to seek God’s face for abundant blessings upon Nigeria and her people.
In his homily, the spiritual man of God Evangelist Peter Kolajo described fasting and prayers as most precious gifts citizens can give to the nation as part of efforts to nation building and overall national growth and development.
He said unless a nation is built on the foundation solidly laid on continued fasting and prayers from her citizenry, things are often perceived awkward.
The clergyman said the state of things in the country informed him ordering 40days fasting and prayers in fulfilling the covenant made to God towards service to God and humanity.
Evangelist Kolajo said he has been replicating similar gesture (40days fasting and prayers) in the last five years, as a little of his own contributions to socioeconomic prosperity of Nigeria and black race.
Evangelist Kolajo who appeared very elated said he was happy to have successfully gone through forty days and nights being dedicated for fasting and prayers on the nation’s predicaments.
The cleric called on Nigerians to prioritize prayers and fasting and as well see the need to put all their shortcomings before God through the efficacy of prayers and fasting, describing it as the only breakthrough to set the nation free from any yokes.
The man of God underpinned his message on the need for Nigerians to abstain from sins, which he said has been drawing the nation’s success to feet.
While admonishing humanity on better rededication to commandments of God, Evangelist Kolajo said it is time for all to turn a new leaf in relations to their creator.
He called for absolute obedience to God’s commandments as being exemplified by Jesus Christ, saying unless one walks in Him spiritually, the chance to paradize seems difficult to such soul.
Evangelist Kolajo prayed fervently for continued unity, love and peaceful coexistence of Nigeria and Nigerians, saying it is in unity that success and stability could be attained.
He decried over the proliferation of pseudo evangelism and uncalled evangelists who according to him had posed great danger and threat to societal peace and security.
Evangelist Kolajo added “as it is disheartening as it looks, so also as it is ugly to ears, a situation in which those expected to be the presiding officers on religious propagation turn to be ritualists, frausters and racketeers.
“Our society has been degraded to the extent that people do not have appetite for patience anymore. Those who called themselves clergymen are in real sense hypocrites. The religious institutions seem lacking sanity, morality and orthodoxical principles.
“Everything now works anti-clockwisely and nobody cares about the future of our society because of today’s materialistic and wealth accumulation.
“Many have been caught in several societal vices which is not only a disgrace to society but to humanity. The ritualism has become a norm in a society claimed to have presence of millions religious leaders.
“Hardly true men of God will identify in the array of worldly renowned spiritualist, hence the need to be more prayerful and dedicated to God’s will and commandments.
“So, to avert this, no effort must be spared by all through consistent and vehement prayers and fasting for the nation”, he stressed.
