Osun 2018: Ogundokun Hits Adeleke, Says He Is a Liar, Can’t Become Governor
By Segun Ojo
A second republic legislator in Nigeria, Chief Abiola Ogundokun has stirred the hornet nest on the 2018 governorship election of Senator Isiaka Adeleke, describing it as a joke and a day dream.
Ogundokun declared that Adeleke can never become governor of Osun State come 2018, saying that he is unfit to be the state helmsman again.
The former PDP chieftain stated this at a live programme on a private radio station in Osogbo on Monday (yesterday).
He described Adeleke as a liar and a deceitful person who should not be trusted for such office again.
Ogundokun pointed out that Adeleke during his tenure as the first executive governor of the state in 1992 marginalised Iwo which was instrumental to his electoral victory.
According to him: “Adeleke wants to contest 2018 elections in Osun; maybe he wants to play. If he comes out to contest, I will be the first person to stand against him openly and tell him you cannot be governor.
“He is deceitful and a lair. I was the one who made him Governor the first time and he did not do anything meaningful for Iwo during his stay in office.
“My son, Debo Badru’s case for example, they removed him as the PDP Chairman, I went to court, he (Adeleke) did not contribute anything to the case.
“Debo did not benefit from his (Senator Adeleke’s) government. They did not give Iwo its pride of place in the PDP.”
Ogundokun urged political gladiators in Osun West Senatorial District to be united and form a formidable force to produce a credible candidate for the 2018 elections.
The community leader called on them not to be divided by the current political situation but be in unison for the progress of the state.
“I don’t have any candidate of my choice now because I am their father, but I want them not to be divided on the latest development but forge ahead to be in one voice for the development of the state”, he submitted.
