Osogbo Court Grants Bail to Man who Allegedly Stole Fan, Generator

A 32 year old man, Mr Adewale Salami , was on Friday arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate’s Court over alleged of stealing of a standing fan and generating set in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Salami was brought before the court with two count charge of stealing a standing fan valued at #10,000 and generating set of Mr Adewale Jayeola valued at #31,000.
The prosecutor, Sargent Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the suspect committed the offense punishable under sections 5 (16) of Criminal code Cap32 Vol II of the criminal code laws of Osun, 2003 on the 23rd of April, 2017.
The accused however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
However the defendant’s lawyer, Mr Alayo Alayokun pleaded with the court to recognize his client as a suspect that is yet to be convicted.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Habibat Basiru in her ruling granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 and two sureties.
Mrs Basiru said that the sureties must reside within the court jurisdiction with evidence of tax payment and two passports size photographs, attached with an affidavit of means.
The case was adjourned to the 9th of June, 2017 for Hearing.
