Ogun N-Power Agro Participants To Get Land Allocation For Farming
Participants under the N-Power Agro Programme of the Federal Government in Ogun have been assured of farmlands for cultivation by the State Government at its designated farm settlements across the State.
Commissioner for Agriculture, Mrs. Adepeju Adebajo, gave the assurance at the official flag-off of the N-Power Agro training program at the Abeokuta South Local Government Secretariat, Ake.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Steven Ipinniwa, the Commissioner also affirmed that land clearing for prospective young farmers had been made easy by the recent procurement of ten bulldozers for agricultural purposes by the State government.
While charging participants to be serious with the training so as to acquire necessary skills needed to become successful farmers, Adebajo said “I admonish you all to be disciplined and punctual at the various training centres. Pay maximum attention to both the theoretical and practical aspects of the training. We look forward to having great farmers and agro-preneurs from this gathering”.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Barr. Leke Adewolu, expressed delight at the commitment of participants at the training, advising them to strive to be the best.
Adewolu, who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Mrs. Tinuola Shopeju, encouraged them to tap into other interventions of the State government for maximum benefits.
Miss Omosewa Taiyese who spoke on behalf of other trainees, said the training had been worthwhile, expressing the conviction that by the time they were through with the training, the practical knowledge acquired would be handy to start their own private businesses.
