Court Remands Businessman for Allegedly Raping 11-year-old Twin Sisters
A 30-year-old businessman, Lawan Zubairu has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly raping an 11-year-old set of twins.
Zubairu who was arraigned at a Kano magistrate court today pleaded not guilty to the rape charge.
Prosecutor, Rufa’I Inusa, told the court that that the accused lured the complainant’s daughters into his room and raped them.
Inusa, an assistant superintendent of police, said complainant, Ibrahim Musa, of Hotoron Fulani Quarters reported the case on March 18.
The offence contravened Section 283 of the Penal Code, Laws of the Federation.
Chief Magistrate Muhammad Jibril, who gave the order, said the accused should remain behind the bars pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The case was adjourned until April 27 for mention.
