Civil Servant Must Be Professional, Diligent for Good Governance to Strive – KWHAS Dep Speaker
For good governance to strive in Nigeria, civil servants in the country must continue to demonstrate professionalism, in the discharge of their duties.
The Deputy Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Mathew Okedare made this observation, in Ilorin , while reacting to a Matter of General Public Importance raised by the House Leader, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke on the retiring Director Personal, Finance and Supply of the House, Alhaji Alfa Mohammed Yahaya.
Okedara who presided over the Tuesday’s plenary of the House, noted that as the engine room of the nation’s governance, civil servants must continue to demonstrate discipline and high professional conduct to safeguard the country’s hard won democracy.
He described the retiring Mohammed as an epitome of discipline, humility who demonstrated greater commitment to duty, enjoining other civil servants to emulate his sterling qualities to further strengthen the nation’s governance.
Oyeleke, the leader of the House described the retiring director as transparent, highly resourceful technocrat, who had contributed significantly in the success recorded by the 8th legislature.
He said the House would be missing his wealth of experience and other sterling qualities, saying that the retiring Director should be celebrated to inspire others.
