CAC Pastor Remanded For Being In Possession Of Human Skull In Osun

An Osun State Magistrate court sitting in Ipetu,  has ordered  the pastor in charge of  a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Edunabon, Adeyemo Adedayo to be remanded in prison for  being in possession of human skull.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr Olakunle Faith Idowu who gave the order on Monday said that the suspect be kept behind the bar going by the gravity of his offense.

It would be recalled that a human head was found under a big mortal kept in the bamboo – church,  which was located at Anglican High School, Edunabon, Ife North Local Government Area.

The 43-year-old pastor,  popularly called Efa-Efa was arrested following the tip off from some residents  in the town.

Scores of youths in the community,  who have been  suspicious of the  pastor’s conduct therefore stormed the church on that faithful day and seriously caused havoc.

The youths alleged the pastor of rape and other sexual harassment among several atrocities.

During the arraignment of the suspect on Monday, Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Okeniyi told the court that Pastor Adeyemo committed the offence on August 6, 2017 at Edunabon.

Okeniyi alleged that the accused was found  in possession of dried bone suspected to be of human .

The alleged offence according to the Prosecutor was contrary to and punishable under Section 249 and 329A of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11 Laws of Osun State 2002.

But the suspect pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of breach of public peace and  possession of human skull.

Ruling on the matter, Magistrate Idowu ordered the accused to be remanded in custody at Ile-Ife prison.

He, thereafter, adjourned the case till September 11, 2017 for mention.

Meanwhile, it took the effort of the Magistrate and the Community’s Legal Representative, Barrister Babatunde Babasola to avert the crisis that would have occurred.

The youths were said to have  attempted to lynch the pastor but for lawyer’s intervention to calm the aggrieved youths before the suspect was later taken back to the prison on the order of the magistrate.
