Alhassan refused to speak on the outcome of the meeting she had with the president as well as what she thinks of Atiku’s resignation.

It was gathered that she met with Buhari cabinet members attended the launch of the policy framework and national action plan for preventing and countering violent extremism.

In September, 2017, Alhassan had declared that she withdraw her support for President Buhari if he decides to seek reelection in 2019. “Atiku is my godfather even before I joined politics,” she had said.

It was earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his sympathy to Chief John Odigie-Oyegun over the resignation of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku resigned from the ruling APC on Friday, November 24, in a statement that was made public. The president chose the venue of the inauguration of the Ama Pepple-led National Minimum Wage Committee to convey his sympathy to the party chairman who joined top government officials for the event.

Although he did not mention Atiku by name, it was evident he was referring to the former vice president
