Restructuring: Shehu Sani Accuses IBB, Others of Hypocrisy
Senator representing Kaduna Central District, Senator Shehu Sani has disparaged IBB and other political office holders who are now calling for “restructuring and creation of state police”, alluding they only take certain positions based on how and when it suits them.
He mocked them on Tuesday on his twitter handle for not being consistent based on principle.
Senator Sani in couple of tweets on his twitter handle @shehusani said, “Nigeria’s theory of restructuring; Oppose it when in power, support it when out of power; Nigeria’s theory of state Police; Support it when you are a Governor; oppose it when an opposition takes charge as Governor.”
Sani wondered the justification or modality behind their present position since they have in the past taken different positions on the same issues.
The senator who condemned governors who supported state police as governors and opposed it when opposition takes charge as Governor also criticized leaders who opposed restructuring while in power but clamoring for it while out of power.
Sundiata Post recalls that IBB has on Monday during prayer to mark his 75 th birthday called for the restructuring of the country and creation of state police.
It also recalls that a former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu was at the fore-front of the call for the creation of state police, but since his party won election at the centre in 2015, Senator Tinubu has been silent on the issue of creation of state Police.
