Fuel Scarcity: ASUU Chairman Tells Nigerian Masses To Fight For Their Rights

The present political leaders in the country have no interest of the masses in their agenda as manifested in the ongoing fuel scarcity which has crippled all activities nation wide with the burden being felt by the commoners.

This was the observation of the Chairman of the Academic Staff  Union of Universities,(ASUU) University of Ibadan Chapter ,Dr. Deji Omole during his courtesy visit to the Correspondent Chapel of the Oyo State NUJ.

Omole who was accompanied by his Vice,Dr.Femi Akeula  advised Nigerians to take their destiny in their hands and reject the current crop of politicians through their votes in  ,2019.

He observed with disgust that members of the ruling class have united against the masses because they have common interest which was to use the commoners to attain power again in 2019.

ASUU chairman pointed out that the cabals were carpet crossing from one party to the other now as they were from all parts of the country and the two major religions adding “that is why it is difficult to fight them”

Speaking further on the state of the nation ,omole said that the anti graft agencies were merely making noise all about alleging that they were not leaving up to societal expectations because corruption was growing in all spheres of life in the country.

Regarding the ongoing strike action by the Non Academic Staff Union of Universities and other unions ,he said that the aggrieved workers seemingly got the issues wrong adding that  they misunderstood the matter because of their selfish motives.

He advised them to appropriately make their claims to the Federal Government which he said might be benefitting from setting the unions against one another.

Omole emphasized that ASUU was not fighting for its members welfare each time it embarks on strike adding that the rot in the system are so many that its members could not remain indifferent to them.
