Fountain University Organises Talk On Developmental Quest, Peoples’ Welfare
The College of Management and Social Sciences, Fountain University, Osogbo has organised a round table discussion on Government’s quest for developmental projects and peoples’ welfare.
The discussion themed, “Development Quest and Workers’ Welfare In a Receding Economy; State of Osun in Focus” was geared towards examining the dilemma of which to prioritize between developmental projects and the peoples’ welfare especially in a receding state.
The discussants of the talk included the head of department of history, Obafemi Awolowo University, Mr Tunji Ogunyemi, the director of Ola Oni Center for Social Research, Comrade Wale Adebisi, the State chairman of Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Jacob Adegbola who was represented by his secretary, Comrade Rufus Adeyemi and the Chief Executive Officer of Rave FM, Mr Femi Adefila.
In his welcome address, the chairman of the college editorial board, Mr Olusegun Laidi said the round table talk aimed at examining if government could successfully manage its infrastructural development while also tending to its peoples welfare.
