Osun NUJ Poll: BAG Charges Nigerians to Imbibe Sportsmanship Spirit In Elections
The president and founder of Osun Ajose foundation, Benedict Alabi Gboyega has commended the Osun state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), for proving its worth in the just concluded election of its state officers.
In a congratulatory massage, through his media aids Adeniyi Folorunso, Gboyega congratulates Abiodun Olalere, the newly inaugurated chairman of the Osun state NUJ council on his well deserved victory.
He urged Nigerians to take a cue from the gentlemen of pen profession, in term of professionalism, decorum, unbiased and transparency in all their conducts.
He describes journalists as the mouth piece of the masses and wants them to continue to carry on with the functions of journalism such as education, information and entertainment.
The renowned philanthropist, Dr. ALABI says the moment the journalists start to compromise the standard of their job, the citizen will lose trust and confidence reposed in them.
Therefore, he urges members of the pen profession to keep the flag flying.
He urged the newly inaugurated chairman and the working committee of the council to embrace those that contested with him and move the state council of their Union forward.
It would be recalled that Biodun Olaleye had won the same election last year before it was controversially annulled by the national Chairman, Waheed Odusile; he again defeated his opponent Dele Ajadi with margin of 19 votes while the secretary and internal auditor Bola Gbanbola and AbduRasq Alege Also emerged respectively.
Meanwhile Kehinde Ayantunji and Wasiu Ajadosu became vice chairman and assistant Financial secretary unopposed respectively
