Again, Two Died As Suspected ‘Eiye Confraternity’ Members Strike In Ondo

Barley after a month strike of cult members which claimed lives, even panic in the state, two persons were said to have lost their lives again on Wednesday in Ondo town, Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State during a separate cult clashes that broke out between two suspected cult members in the community.
The victims who whose names were given as Oluwole Samson and Wale Ajayi were said to have shut dead in Sabo and Orisunmibare streets in the community. Although details about the incident is still sketchy as at the time of filing this report,
It was reliably gathered from two different sources that one of the victim whose name was given as Oluwole Samson, was said to be a strong member of “Eiye Confraternity” had gone out to a relaxation centre located at Ayeleso street in the town in companied of some of his friends.
It was further learnt that while they were at the relaxation centre an argument was said to have ensued between them and other cult rival group. The late Samson who was until his death was said to be a student of one of the higher institutions in Ondo State was said to have been trailed to Orisunmibare where he was shut dead on close range by unknown persons.
According to another version of the story, however stated that the second victim whose name was given as Wale Ajayi, was said to be a strong member of “Afe Confraternity” and revenue collector was also shut dead by yet to be identified person at about 6:30am on the fateful day shortly he resumed for his daily operation in the area.
The report of the double incidents which almost resulted into tension in the community immediately the news was broken, as traders and shop owners in the areas where the incidents occurred horribly closed their shops.
The situation was however brought under control following the timely redeployment police officers as well as men of the Department of State Security (DSS) to the scenes of the two incidents.
When our correspondent visited the scene of the first incident that occurred at Orisunmibare street, the deceased was seen lying down in his own pool of blood, also a detachment of police officers from the Enuowa divisional police station were also noticed making effort to evacuate the remains to the mortuary.
Similar situation was also witnessed at the scene of the other incident that occurred at Sabo area as several residents of the area who had earlier deserted were noticed standing in groups discussing the development.
The patrol vehicle of the Special Ant-robbery Squad department of the Funbi-Fagun divisional police station were seen patrolling the whole area.
Confirming the two separate incidents, Mr Xpress Omoigui, a Superintendent of Police (SP) and Olu-Ojo Ogunmoyole who were Divisional Police Officers of Enuowa and Funbi-Fagun divisional police stations respectively, said about three persons has been invited over the incidents and they were still helping the police to unravel the culprits.
The DPO’s however said the reports concerning the two incidents has been forwarded to the appropriate quarter at the police command headquarters in Akure for further investigation.
