The rumoured war of attribution between Governor Rauf Aregbesola and a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Alhaji Fatai Diekola became confirmed on Friday when the later openly took a swipe at the former over the 2018 governorship election.

Diekola who spoke in Yoruba language at an empowerment programme organized by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yusuf Lasun, described Aregbesola as ajele , as a ‘regent’ and sole administrator.

He accused Aregbesola of enslaving the people of the state, saying that ‘they’ were ready to liberate the state and send Aregbesola back to Lagos.

According to Diekola, Lasun, he and Senator Isiaka Adeleke were on the same page in the cause of ‘liberating the people of Osun State’, charging other members of the party to support their cause on the 2018 governorship election.

The former chairman of Osogbo Local Government claimed: “We brought him to power from Lagos, we will also send him away.”

Diekola said he was not alone in the struggle to ‘liberate the state’, saying some people were afraid to come out openly as he did.

He said: “I greet all of you party members. We just came back from Ondo state governor inauguration now, some people couldn’t go…they were scared and afraid, but they are part of us. We are many in this fight, whoever wants to join us should join us, we are “liberation front”. I was there with my friend, former governor Isiaka Adeleke was also there….God will send the sole Administrator (Ajeele) away.

“You people should not worry, our victory in Ondo state will be replicated here…. Don’t mind them…

“God will soon liberate us from this slavery, very soon, we will rejoice….whoever wants to become governor needs to be very courageous…..and we are ready to achieve what we achieved in Ondo state here….I know God will make it happen.

“I beg all you, don’t allow them to cause problem within us, we can all see what’s happening. We cannot leave the party for them; they are the ones that would go for us. We are not APC-AD. We are core APC members.

“We have never experienced this in Osun. How can only one person be the party and be the Governor…They claim that a party leader got contract of school construction. How much is the school? many of them also made money through contract. The time to talk is not now.”
